Ode to a Frog

I tink;  therefore, I am.  Rene was the founder of the International Society of Tinkers,   based in Dublin. He was often seen hiking along the River Shannon, clad in lederhosen and Merrells, carrying a rucksack, and singing via con Dios.

Corollary

The foregoing postulate has, of course, its corollary:  the language of the course, IS THE COURSE.  You notice this in the sciences.  Take math for example.  You must learn the definitions of sign, cosign, variable, set, subset, null set,  operator, etc. in order to begin to ask insightful questions of your professor.   And those insightful questions speak volumes on your behalf.  So, we've made progress:  read the books and talk to the teachers.

The Language is the Course.

Ever notice how some people love foreign languages?  Have you, yourself ever studied a foreign language?  Perhaps you tried, and the result was disappointing.  It should be easy - a baby can do it - but you can't.  It's from such thinking that I developed the theory that for (insert name of language) the course is the language.  If you are studying French,  everyday is full of French words, French phrases,  French literature, by golly, the whole thing is French!  After you have stumbled around the French course, there is only one conclusion.   The subject of the course is French and you must confront the beast or you'll never conquer it.   So friend, my first postulate is:  sometimes, the language is the course.  [This would be a good time to look up "postulate."]
